Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brand Management, EMEA at Marriott International, said, “Cape Verde is known for its vibrant spirit, natural beauty and growing global appeal, making it an exciting addition to our network of global destinations. São Vicente is the ideal destination for us to introduce Four Points by Sheraton’s first resort in the region, offering an authentic sense of place paired with breathtaking vistas along with the brand’s genuine service, comfort and modern style.

The resort features 127 guest rooms and suites designed with a mix of contemporary elements and locally inspired aesthetics. Interiors incorporate materials and design elements reflective of the island’s architecture and cultural identity. The property also showcases curated artworks, including paintings by Raya Salman and photography by Joe Wuerfel, alongside works by Cape Verdean artists.

Guests have direct access to the beach via a skybridge, along with facilities such as an infinity pool and pool bar. Dining options include Bayview, which offers all-day dining, Ocean Lounge as a poolside venue, and a rooftop Skybar that is expected to open soon.

Additional amenities include a conference centre with meeting rooms and event spaces, a fitness centre, and the Essência Spa equipped with treatment rooms, a sauna, steam bath, and jacuzzi. The hotel also features the brand’s Best Brews™ programme, highlighting locally sourced craft beer.

The opening represents several milestones for Marriott International, including its first property in Cape Verde, its 500th operating select-service hotel in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, and the first resort under the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Africa.

Schulze-Potgieter added, “Our select service hotels today represents more than 30 percent of our EMEA portfolio, and this 500th milestone opening underscores the strong demand for consistent and modern hospitality in the region and reflects the power and credibility of our brands in the segment.”

The development reflects Marriott’s continued expansion in emerging leisure destinations, with a focus on offering standardised hospitality experiences aligned with regional demand.
