IHCL Opens Tree of Life Shambala in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the opening of Tree of Life Shambala in Yercaud, marking an expansion of its Tree of Life portfolio in southern India.

Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses at IHCL, said, “Tree of Life offers guests immersive experiences rooted in nature, wellness and a sense of place. As the brand continues to expand its footprint, Tree of Life Shambala reflects our philosophy of mindfully curated experiences that encourage a deeper connection with the destination.”
The 25-key retreat is designed as a quiet, nature-oriented property, drawing inspiration from the concept of Shambala, a mythical Buddhist realm associated with peace and balance. The resort is positioned as a destination for relaxation and wellness-focused stays.
Dining at the property is centred around The Fig Tree Place, which offers seasonal and locally sourced cuisine in a garden-facing setting. The resort’s facilities include a swimming pool, spa, yoga centre, conference space, and outdoor recreational areas, along with walking trails through surrounding plantations.
Situated in the Shevarayan Hills, Yercaud is known for its natural landscape and relatively less crowded environment. Guests visiting the destination can explore nearby attractions such as Yercaud Lake, Kiliyur Falls, and the Botanical Garden Yercaud.
The opening aligns with IHCL’s broader strategy of expanding its presence in leisure destinations with a focus on experiential and wellness-led hospitality offerings.
