Jolyon Bulley, Chief Executive Officer, Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the company’s expansion reflects the strength of its brand portfolio, the support of its hotel owners and the commitment of its teams. He added that IHG will continue to expand its presence by introducing brands that meet changing traveller preferences across Canada.

Expansion Pipeline Across Canada

IHG currently has nearly 40 hotels under development across the country. Six additional properties are expected to open later this year, including Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites hotels in Barrie, Aurora East, Pembroke and Woodstock.

These openings will follow the seven hotels launched in Canada during 2025, including a Crowne Plaza in Toronto and four Staybridge Suites properties.

New Brands Enter the Canadian Market

IHG is also introducing additional brands across Canada. The company recently signed its first voco hotels in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Niagara Falls, expanding its premium offering in key destinations.

The Garner brand is also scheduled to enter Canada in 2027 with three planned hotels in southern Alberta, including Red Deer, Medicine Hat and near Calgary International Airport. The expansion supports demand for midscale conversion opportunities across the region.

With a growing portfolio and a strong development pipeline, the hotel group continues to strengthen its presence across Canada’s hospitality sector.
