IHG Signs Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath, Marks Entry into Surat
New Hotel Planned in Gujarat’s Commercial Market with 2029 Opening Timeline
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Yashvi Greenco LLP to develop Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 and will mark IHG’s entry into Surat.
The development is part of the company’s broader expansion across India, with a focus on commercial centres and emerging urban markets.
Project Details and Location
The 110-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development along the Gauravpath corridor, an area seeing ongoing infrastructure and commercial activity.
Surat, often referred to as the Diamond City, continues to see economic activity driven by its industrial base and connectivity. The hotel is expected to cater to business travellers, small and medium enterprises, and transit demand.
Brand Positioning and Design Approach

Holiday Inn Express, part of IHG Hotels’ portfolio, focuses on providing essential services designed for both business and leisure travellers. The brand’s updated design approach includes flexible workspaces and functional layouts to support both short and extended stays.
Expansion Strategy in India

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the signing reflects the company’s plans to expand its presence in India across secondary and developing commercial markets.

Paresh Khandelwal, Managing Partner at Yashvi Greenco LLP, noted that Surat’s economic activity and infrastructure development support the case for branded hotel developments in the city.
IHG’s Presence in India
IHG Hotels currently operates 51 hotels across multiple brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. The company also has a pipeline of 89 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
