Three Standout Rooftop Bars in Thailand for Views, Dining and Events
Thailand’s rooftop bar scene continues to evolve, offering elevated settings that combine city views, curated dining and programmed events. From northern Thailand to Bangkok and Pattaya, these rooftop venues provide distinct experiences shaped by location, design and culinary focus.
MAI The Sky Bar, Chiang Mai
Located at Meliá Chiang Mai, MAI The Sky Bar sits on the 22nd floor and offers 360-degree views across Chiang Mai. Guests can look east toward the Ping River and west toward Doi Suthep Temple. The rooftop features terraces at varying heights, connected by a glass bridge, with glass balustrades that allow uninterrupted views of the sunset and evening hours.
Entertainment includes live bands and DJ performances, while the menu reflects Meliá’s Spanish heritage with tapas, pinchos, grazing boards and desserts. Cocktails are inspired by the forests and mountains surrounding Chiang Mai.
The venue will host a series of scheduled events, including a Christmas Eve party, a New Year’s Eve countdown and a Spanish Gastronomy Series. The culinary programme will feature visiting chefs Alejandro García Martín and Manuel Robles Cons in January and February, culminating in multi-day showcases and themed dining and entertainment evenings on the Upper Deck.
The Giant Swing Pool Bar, Bangkok

Situated on the 34th floor of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, The Giant Swing Pool Bar is set alongside a transparent infinity pool overlooking Bangkok’s skyline. A contemporary interpretation of the Giant Swing landmark forms a central visual element between the bar and pool, while an adjacent rooftop terrace offers lounge seating and panoramic city views.
Open from morning until midnight, the pool bar serves Mediterranean, Thai, and international dishes, along with cocktails and beverages. In the evening, the space connects with the hotel’s 33rd-floor LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, allowing guests to view the pool from below.
Weekly events include ‘Viva la Fiesta’, held every Wednesday evening, featuring guest DJs, live percussion, and shared dining experiences. The venue will also host a New Year’s Eve celebration spanning the 33rd and 34th floors, with music programming extending into the early hours.
Yitong Sky Bar, Pattaya

Yitong Sky Bar is located on the 12th floor of the Meliá Pattaya Hotel and overlooks the Gulf of Thailand. Part of Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar, the venue combines rooftop views with a food-and-beverage concept focused on Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, emphasising balanced, mindful dining.
The cocktail menu incorporates Asian ingredients and flavour profiles, with drinks such as gin infused with goji berry, brandy-based citrus blends and Campari mixed with ginseng and Chinese spirits. The name “Yitong,” meaning “together,” reflects the restaurant’s emphasis on shared dishes and communal dining.
Yitong Sky Bar will host a New Year’s Eve countdown event featuring canapés, selected beverages and views of Pattaya’s skyline. The hotel also offers a stay package that includes a welcome drink at the rooftop bar.
Together, these rooftop venues highlight how Thailand’s hospitality sector is blending location, design, and programming to create distinctive rooftop experiences across the country.
