Emirates introduces Carnival-themed dining and entertainment on Brazil routes
Emirates is marking Brazil’s Carnival with a curated selection of Brazilian-inspired dishes and entertainment on flights between Dubai and Brazil. The seasonal offering will be available from 13 to 21 February on services to and from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as on the Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires sector.
Passengers across all cabins will be served menus inspired by Brazilian cuisine.
In First and Business Class, customers travelling from Dubai to Brazil will be offered dishes such as braised beef short ribs with garlic sauce, coriander pesto rice, roasted courgettes, peppers and plantain chips. Premium Economy passengers will be served braised veal cheek with similar accompaniments, while Economy Class customers can enjoy Picadinho de Carnival, a Brazilian-style beef dish served with coriander rice, roasted plantain and grilled pepper.
Desserts on Brazil-bound flights include brigadeiro cheesecake, topped with ganache and served with coconut-vanilla anglaise and guava and passion fruit coulis. On A380 services to São Paulo, premium cabin passengers can also visit the onboard lounge for additional sweet selections, including banana bundt cake.
On return flights from Brazil to Dubai, the themed menus continue. First- and Business-Class customers will be served grilled filet mignon with biquinho pepper sauce, sautéed kale, roasted pumpkin, palm heart, and Brazilian-style rice with beans and vegetables. Premium Economy passengers will receive braised beef short ribs with local accompaniments, while Economy Class customers can enjoy braised beef in onion sauce with rice, kale, farofa, pickled biquinho peppers and black beans.
Appetisers on Dubai-bound flights include smoked white fish with coriander sauce and mango relish in premium cabins, and cauliflower salad in Premium Economy and Economy. Dessert options include fruit tartlets with brigadeiro and mango coulis in First and Business Class, and manjar branco, a Brazilian coconut cream dessert, in Premium Economy and Economy. Passengers in the A380 onboard lounge from São Paulo will also be served orange cake with white chocolate sauce and fruit skewers.

In addition to themed menus, Emirates’ inflight entertainment system offers Brazilian films such as Estômago II: O Poderoso Chef, Saudosa Maloca, and De Repente, Miss!, along with Portuguese-language Hollywood titles and curated playlists featuring Brazilian artists such as Sergio Mendes and Gilberto Gil.
The Carnival programme forms part of Emirates’ seasonal onboard initiatives designed to reflect cultural events across its network.
