Elewana Expands Kenya Portfolio with New and Upgraded Lodges
Kenya Lodges Strengthen Elewana’s Sustainable Tourism Offering
Elewana Collection, part of Minor Hotels’ luxury brand portfolio, has announced the opening of Little Elephant Pepper Camp in the Mara North Conservancy and the completion of a major refurbishment of Lewa Safari Camp in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya.
The developments form part of Elewana’s continued focus on responsible tourism and conservation-led hospitality. Both projects have been carefully managed within existing bed-night limits to ensure no additional pressure is placed on the surrounding ecosystems.
Little Elephant Pepper Camp Opens in Mara North Conservancy
Little Elephant Pepper Camp introduces a new accommodation option within the Mara North Conservancy. The camp features three safari suites and one two-bedroom family suite, each equipped with a private veranda and plunge pool.
Located a short distance from Elephant Pepper Camp, the property is designed to offer an intimate safari experience while maintaining a low environmental footprint. Built without permanent structures or fencing, the camp reflects the traditions of classic mobile safaris while incorporating modern comforts.
Guests can explore the 72,000-acre conservancy through game drives and guided walking safaris. The area supports a wide range of wildlife and forms part of the wider Maasai Mara ecosystem.
Lewa Safari Camp Reopens Following Refurbishment
Lewa Safari Camp has reopened following a complete refurbishment to enhance guest facilities while preserving the camp’s character and connection to its surroundings.
Upgrades include redesigned dining and lounge areas, expanded guest tents, shaded verandas, a separate bar and an enhanced spa facility.
Situated within the 65,000-acre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the camp provides access to one of Kenya’s most important conservation areas, known for its black rhino, Grevy’s zebra and diverse wildlife populations.
Conservancies Continue to Support Wildlife Protection
Both Mara North Conservancy and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy play an important role in protecting wildlife habitats and migration corridors while supporting local communities through tourism.
The conservancy model limits visitor numbers and regulates wildlife viewing activities, helping to minimise environmental impact while providing sustainable economic opportunities through employment, education and community development programmes.

Karim Wissanji, Group Chairman and CEO of Elewana Collection, said the company’s commitment to community engagement, wildlife conservation and purpose-driven tourism aligns closely with the objectives of both conservancies.
He noted that the conservancy approach has become an important example of how tourism, conservation and community development can work together to protect natural landscapes for future generations.
With the opening of Little Elephant Pepper Camp and the refurbishment of Lewa Safari Camp, Elewana continues to strengthen its presence in Kenya while supporting conservation-focused tourism experiences across East Africa.
