Delta Builds 46th KABOOM! Playground in Grant Park
On October 25, Delta employees and community volunteers came together in Atlanta’s Grant Park to construct Delta’s 46th KABOOM! playground and the 11th in Atlanta. This project was completed in partnership with the Grant Park Conservancy. The new play area, located in the city’s oldest park, was developed over a two-year planning period and built in collaboration with playground builder KOMPAN. This marks the second playground that Delta has partnered on with KOMPAN in Atlanta, following the Cook Park project in 2018.
Amy Martin, Vice President – North America Network Planning at Delta and a member of the Grant Park Conservancy Board, said the project reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to contributing to the communities where employees live and work.
Michelle Blackmon, Executive Director of Grant Park Conservancy, noted that the previous playground was widely used and that Delta’s involvement supported the park in creating a renewed, modern playspace.

Volunteers from Delta, community members, and 18 SkyMiles Members worked together throughout the build day. Additional efforts included refreshing a longtime concrete turtle feature in the park.
The new playground includes slides, swings, climbing features, and a toddler-friendly area. A ribbon-cutting ceremony followed, during which Delta presented Grant Park Conservancy with a $25,000 contribution.

Representative Nikema Williams of Georgia’s 5th Congressional District also attended the event.
Delta has partnered with KABOOM! since 2013, supporting the organization’s work to expand access to safe and engaging play spaces. Across the U.S., Delta teams have contributed to the construction of 46 playgrounds to date.
