Bangkok ranks first globally for international arrivals in 2025: Euromonitor
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has acknowledged the latest findings from Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations Index 2025, which ranks Bangkok as the most visited city worldwide by international travellers in 2025. The Thai capital recorded 30.3 million international arrivals, the highest among all cities assessed.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said the ranking reflects the strength of Thailand’s tourism framework and Bangkok’s ability to deliver consistent visitor experiences. She noted that TAT’s focus remains on value-based tourism, encouraging longer stays, responsible travel, and the city’s continued development as a safe and competitive destination.

The index places Bangkok ahead of other global cities, highlighting its continued appeal across leisure, culture, food, and urban lifestyle segments. Euromonitor International evaluates 100 cities using more than 50 indicators, including tourism performance, infrastructure, policy environment, health and safety, sustainability, and economic activity.
According to Euromonitor’s analysis, many leading destinations are increasingly prioritising sustainable growth and long-term planning over visitor volumes alone. Despite global economic pressures and rising regional competition, Bangkok maintained its leading position, supported by steady international demand and established destination fundamentals.

Bangkok is known for its combination of historic sites and contemporary urban life, with temples and riverside areas existing alongside creative districts, modern architecture, and retail centres. The city is also recognised for its food scene, air connectivity, and service infrastructure. As Thailand’s main international gateway, Bangkok continues to play a key role in driving travel across the country and supporting balanced tourism growth.
The city’s ranking aligns with TAT’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable and high-quality tourism under its global communication campaign, “Unforgettable Experience: Healing is the New Luxury.”

The Top 100 City Destinations Index 2025 projects that leading global cities will collectively receive around 702 million international trips this year, representing 46% of worldwide inbound tourism.
