AirBorneo Signs Long-Term Technology Agreement with Sabre
Sabre Corporation has announced a new long-term agreement with AirBorneo. The airline, which began operations in early January 2026, has selected Sabre to support its network planning, pricing, and revenue strategy from the start.
AirBorneo, owned by the government of the Malaysian state of Sarawak, aims to build a technology foundation that supports regional connectivity and long-term growth, while enabling faster responses to market changes and a smoother passenger experience.
Under the multi-year agreement, AirBorneo will deploy:
Sabre Network Planning & Optimization (NPO) to automate and manage flight schedules, codeshare agreements, and route profitability
Sabre Mosaic Revenue Optimizer to support pricing by adjusting seat availability and fare conditions based on market demand and business objectives
Sabre Market Intelligence & Global Demand Data to access insights and competitive benchmarks to guide network and revenue planning

“AirBorneo is committed to building a modern, competitive airline that enhances connectivity in Sarawak and the wider region,” said Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin, CEO, AirBorneo Holdings.
“By partnering with Sabre before our first flight took off, we are ensuring that our pricing, planning, and revenue management capabilities are built on a data-driven foundation. This will help us serve passengers effectively, make informed decisions, and support long-term growth.”

Maneesh Jaikrishna, Vice President and General Manager, Airline IT Solutions, Asia Pacific, said: “Building successful airlines requires strategic planning and data-driven decisions about when and where to fly, with the right aircraft on the right routes. By selecting Sabre’s technology ahead of launch, AirBorneo is putting the framework in place to compete and deliver the connectivity and service travellers expect.”
Created through the acquisition and rebranding of MASwings, AirBorneo will continue to provide essential air services across Sarawak and Sabah while expanding connectivity to regional markets. The airline plans to operate within a four-to-five hour flight radius initially, targeting destinations such as Singapore, Indonesia, and South Korea, with longer-term plans to serve longer-haul routes.
With Sabre’s technology supporting its operational and commercial planning, AirBorneo is expected to strengthen Sarawak’s position as an aviation and tourism hub, improving travel options for local communities and international visitors.
