Air India has shifted all its domestic flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, effective 29 March 2026.

The move covers the airline’s 210 weekly domestic flights operating to and from Ahmedabad. Air India’s international services at the airport were already operating from Terminal 2.

From today, all arrivals and departures for Air India flights in Ahmedabad will be handled exclusively at Terminal 2.

Terminal Upgrade and Passenger Facilities

Terminal 2, with a built-up area of around 49,000 square metres, includes 52 check-in counters, self-baggage drop kiosks, and DigiYatra facilities. The terminal also has 17 departure immigration counters, 22 arrival immigration counters and 8 Fast Track Immigration e-gates for both arrivals and departures.

Passengers travelling through Terminal 2 can also access a range of retail outlets and food and beverage options.

Passenger Advisory and Communication

Air India has informed passengers of the terminal change via SMS, email, and other communication channels. Travellers scheduled to fly to or from Ahmedabad are advised to check their terminal details before leaving for the airport to avoid confusion.
