Shuvendu Banerjee Promoted to Area General Manager at IHG South West Asia

IHG Hotels & Resorts has promoted Shuvendu Banerjee to the role of Area General Manager for South West Asia. This elevation comes alongside his continued role as General Manager of Holiday Inn New Delhi Aerocity.

In his expanded role, Banerjee will oversee a multi-property portfolio across South West Asia, with a focus on driving operational efficiency, enhancing stakeholder profitability, and strengthening talent development across the region.

Banerjee brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including more than 19 years with IHG Hotels & Resorts. His tenure within IHG has been marked by progressive leadership roles across key properties in India.

Prior to this promotion, he served as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla from June 2021 to October 2024. Before that, he was General Manager at Crowne Plaza Kochi for five years, where he led operations across both luxury resort and corporate segments.

Earlier in his career, Banerjee held commercial leadership roles within IHG, including Director of Sales and Marketing at Crowne Plaza Gurugram and Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini, as well as Director of Sales at Crowne Plaza Today Gurugram.

Before joining IHG, he worked as Sales Manager at Radisson Hotel Delhi and Assistant Sales Manager at ITC WelcomGroup, where he contributed to building a multi-property sales network across 17 hotels. He began his career with Jaypee Hotels as a Management Trainee and Sales Executive, managing embassy and Fortune 500 accounts in Delhi NCR.
