APPOINTMENT
JA The Resort has appointed Joao Garcia as Executive Chef across JA Beach Hotel and JA Palm Tree Court, bringing more than two decades of international culinary experience to the destination.

Garcia’s career spans classical culinary training and leadership roles across Europe and the Middle East. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and École Ducasse, he began his journey in Michelin-recognised kitchens before moving into senior positions in the Middle East hospitality sector.
His previous roles include Group Executive Chef at Meraas, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of dining concepts, and Executive Sous Chef at Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, where he contributed to the development of flagship beach dining projects.
In his new position, Garcia will lead the culinary direction of both hotels at the resort, focusing on strengthening each venue’s identity while supporting the destination’s hospitality approach. His culinary philosophy centres on seasonality, fresh produce, and balanced flavours, alongside an emphasis on team development and a collaborative kitchen culture.
