Thiruvananthapuram Airport Adds New Flights and Increases Frequency on Key Routes
Thiruvananthapuram will soon have new flights to Navi Mumbai, Mangalore, and Trichy. Additionally, the frequency of flights to Riyadh and Delhi will be increased in the upcoming winter schedule. Once the schedule is finalized, more flights are anticipated. Passengers traveling to Mumbai will have an additional option with a service to the new Navi Mumbai airport.
Officials have announced that airlines plan to increase the frequency of flights on several routes. The service to Riyadh will operate three times a week, while flights to Delhi will increase from four to six times a week. Ongoing discussions with airlines are focused on adding even more services.

Recent reports suggest that airlines are increasingly prioritizing major cities over smaller ones, despite demand for flights to the latter. Currently, Chennai has only two flights available each week. This limited domestic connectivity is driving up fares, with one-way weekend tickets to Chennai costing between ₹6,000 and ₹7,000.
Thiruvananthapuram Airport currently operates flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Kannur. While international connectivity has improved, domestic connectivity remains limited, especially for smaller cities.
The airport is set for expansion, which includes new terminals, rapid exit taxiways, and a parallel taxiway to accommodate the increase in flight operations. Current airside limitations affect operational capacity.
