AirAsia Launches Travel Fair 2025 to Strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s Role as a Regional Hub
AirAsia has launched the AirAsia Travel Fair 2025, a collaborative platform bringing together travellers, travel agents, tourism boards, and industry partners under one roof. Building on past editions in Malaysia, the event highlights Kuala Lumpur’s position as a growing travel hub, with strong domestic and international connectivity that supports Malaysia’s tourism sector ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
The fair features AirAsia’s network along with packages from travel agents and partners, offering travellers more choice and value. It also underscores Kuala Lumpur’s role as a departure point for outbound travel and as an entryway for inbound tourism.
YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, said: “For Visit Malaysia 2026, our target is to welcome more than 47 million arrivals and generate RM329 billion in receipts. AirAsia’s network through Kuala Lumpur plays an important role in achieving this, serving both Malaysians travelling abroad and visitors entering the country. The AirAsia Travel Fair provides a useful platform to highlight destinations at home and abroad.”
Amanda Woo, Group Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia, added: “This fair comes at a timely moment as we work with tourism boards, travel agents, and other partners to expand options for our guests. In 2025, we have resumed five routes and introduced 25 new ones, strengthening connectivity across Asia and beyond. With Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) operating as a hub, we are positioned to connect regional and international travellers while supporting affordable and flexible travel choices.”
AirAsia accounts for more than 96% of passenger traffic at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2). In 2024, 25.8 million passengers travelled with AirAsia via Kuala Lumpur, connecting to over 130 destinations across Asia, Australia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. New routes such as Kuala Lumpur–Tashkent, Istanbul, Palembang, Semarang, Banjarmasin, and Darwin further expand the hub’s reach.

The Travel Fair 2025 runs from 22–24 August at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Centre Court, Kuala Lumpur, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. Visitors will enjoy access to up to 35% off flights, over 1,000 travel packages, RM100 cash vouchers for the first 100 customers daily, plus additional giveaways and lucky draws.
