IHG Marks One Million Rooms Worldwide Amid Steady Global Expansion
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced it has reached one million open rooms worldwide, supported by rising demand and consistent brand growth.
Driven by increasing global travel and a broad strategic approach, IHG has steadily expanded, opening hundreds of hotels annually and doubling its brand portfolio to 20 over the past decade. The company now operates in over 100 countries, offering accommodation options for various guest needs. IHG’s loyalty program, IHG One Rewards, and its integrated technology platform have played key roles in strengthening guest experiences and supporting hotel owners.
This one-million-room mark highlights the scale of IHG’s footprint and the daily experiences of more than a million guests worldwide. From family events and business travel to global diplomacy, IHG’s 6,700+ hotels aim to provide spaces where significant moments take place.
To recognize the milestone, IHG is focusing on stories that reflect its brand promise of “True Hospitality for Good.”

In the first half of 2025, IHG opened a record number of rooms and marked several regional milestones, including reaching 4,000 hotels in the US, its 800th property in Greater China during its 50th year in the region, and increased activity across EMEAA markets. The company has over 2,200 hotels in its pipeline, signalling continued growth in key markets.
