Hilton Opens Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique with Partners and Officials

Hilton invited government officials and project partners to celebrate the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique in the Guanacaste region. Located on the cliffs of Punta Cacique, with views of the Pacific Ocean, this event marked an important milestone in Hilton’s luxury expansion across Latin America.
Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, said: “At Hilton, we have a portfolio of luxury hotels serving travellers worldwide. Today, we are marking the opening of Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, which reflects Waldorf Astoria’s approach to hospitality while integrating elements of Costa Rica’s culture and environment.”
Steve Case, Chairman and CEO of Revolution, said: “Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique reflects the principles of the Punta Cacique community: quality service and connection to the natural and cultural setting of Costa Rica. Together, we are developing a destination for travellers for years to come.”
Phillippe Garnier, President and CEO of Garnier & Garnier, added: “This project represents a milestone for Garnier & Garnier, developed with a focus on technical precision, operational standards, and environmental considerations. It highlights the potential of Guanacaste as an area for investment and employment.”
Eduardo Gruener, Principal of Cacique Investors, said: “As owners, we worked to align Waldorf Astoria as the operator, structure the capital, and execute the plan. The resort is positioned to deliver guest experiences that reflect a sense of place.”
Mauricio Gruener, Principal of Cacique Investors, noted: “We committed the equity required to bring the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica to completion. The hotel is expected to provide employment and contribute to Costa Rica’s hospitality sector.”
The property features 188 rooms and is situated along Playa Penca at Punta Cacique. It offers six dining options, a spa and fitness centre, a multi-level pool, and clubs for kids and teens. Additionally, there are 10,000 square feet of meeting space available. The resort also includes the Waldorf Astoria Residences Costa Rica at Punta Cacique, which boasts a limited number of fully furnished four- and five-bedroom estate homes that provide access to the resort’s amenities.
Owned by Revolution, Cacique Investors LLC, and Garnier & Garnier, the resort is managed by Hilton, with GFG Securities LLC arranging the equity and debt financing for the project developed in Costa Rica.
