United Expands Winter Schedule with Added Flights Across U.S. and Central America
United Airlines has expanded its winter schedule with additional flights to 15 destinations, beginning January 6, 2025. The move adds new connectivity across the U.S. and Central America as the carrier adjusts its network for the upcoming season.
U.S. Domestic Additions
United will add one extra daily round-trip flight on the following routes:
From Houston: Orlando, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Baltimore, Miami
From Chicago: Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Las Vegas
From Newark/New York: Orlando, Fort Lauderdale
From Los Angeles: Las Vegas
In addition, United is introducing two new routes from Newark/New York to Columbia, South Carolina and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Central America Routes
From Houston, United will launch:
Three new weekly flights to Guatemala City (Guatemala) and San Salvador (El Salvador)
One new weekly flight to San Pedro Sula (Honduras)
Additional Capacity
The winter schedule also includes extra flights between Houston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, along with larger aircraft on the Chicago–New York LaGuardia route to support customer connections across the expanded network.

“If Spirit suddenly goes out of business, it will be incredibly disruptive, so we’re adding these flights to give their customers other options if they want or need them,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of Global Network Planning and Alliances.
United currently operates flights to more than 225 U.S. cities and connects passengers to over 360 destinations worldwide. With this schedule update, the airline will offer 45 daily flights to Orlando, 30 to Fort Lauderdale, and 43 to Las Vegas during the winter season.
