TAT Supports New Thailand-Poland Tourism Connectivity

LOT Polish Airlines Launches Direct Warsaw–Bangkok Service

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has concluded its TAT x LOT Polish Airlines familiarisation trip with a Tabletop Sale in Bangkok, aimed at strengthening travel partnerships ahead of LOT Polish Airlines’ new direct Warsaw–Bangkok service launching on 7 October 2026.

The event brought together Thai tourism suppliers and Polish travel trade representatives to develop travel opportunities for the upcoming winter season and support tourism growth between Thailand and Poland.

Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director of the TAT Europe Region, said the new direct route will improve connectivity between Central Europe and Thailand while helping to increase travel demand from the Polish market.

LOT Polish Airlines will begin operating the Warsaw–Bangkok route with three weekly flights from 7 October 2026. From 26 October 2026, the service will increase to five weekly flights during the winter 2026/2027 season.

The route will be operated using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with a seating capacity of 252 passengers. According to the airline, the inaugural service has already received strong booking interest from Polish travellers.

The direct connection between Warsaw and Bangkok provides travellers with an alternative to existing routes that require transit through other European or Middle Eastern hubs.

As part of the familiarisation programme, TAT organized a four-day itinerary in Bangkok for 10 delegates, including LOT Polish Airlines executives and representatives from Polish travel companies such as Almatur, Best Reisen, eSKY, eTravel, Flugo, Hurra, Profitravel, and Weco-travel.

The programme included visits to Bangkok’s cultural and tourism attractions, hotel inspections, wellness experiences, and local community activities. Delegates visited landmarks including the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Pak Khlong Talat, Yaowarat, ICONSIAM, and Mahanakhon SkyWalk, and participated in canal tours and Thai wellness activities.

Poland continues to emerge as an important source market for Thailand. In 2025, Thailand welcomed 237,570 Polish visitors, reflecting year-on-year growth. Between 1 January and 18 May 2026, Thailand recorded 137,772 arrivals from Poland.

TAT estimates that the direct Warsaw–Bangkok route could generate around 47,000 visitors and contribute approximately 3.196 billion Baht in tourism revenue during the winter 2026/2027 season.

Polish travellers continue to show interest in destinations such as Bangkok, Krabi, Ko Samui, and Chiang Mai, with average stays of around 14 days. Thailand’s tourism strategy remains focused on encouraging longer stays, a more balanced regional distribution of tourism, and higher-value tourism experiences.
