Suman Kundu Appointed as Rooms Division Manager at The Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas

The Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas has appointed Mr. Suman Kundu as Rooms Division Manager.

With over a decade of experience in the hospitality sector, Mr. Kundu has worked with several well-known hotel brands across India, gaining experience in guest service, team management, and operations.

Mr. Kundu began his career in 2015 with ITC Sonar, where he developed his skills in guest engagement and service delivery. He later joined Taj Hotels as a Concierge Executive, where he received the MD’s Club Award for achieving high guest satisfaction scores. During his tenure at The St. Regis Mumbai, he contributed to initiatives in cross-selling and guest satisfaction, and was named “Manager of the Year” among 1,500 employees.

He subsequently held leadership roles at JW Marriott Kolkata and The Westin Pune, where he focused on operational improvement and guest experience. Under his guidance, the Rooms team at The Westin Pune was ranked among APEC’s top five hotels for performance and service quality.

At The Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas, Mr. Kundu will oversee the Rooms Division, with responsibilities that include managing guest experience, revenue performance, and daily operations.

Describing his leadership philosophy, Mr. Kundu shared, “My leadership style is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment. I believe in giving everyone a fair chance and always putting people first. In hospitality, we don’t need to speak the loudest, we need to listen the deepest.

Outside of work, Mr. Kundu enjoys music, songwriting, and composing. He also spends time riding, driving, and engaging in reflective activities that help him stay balanced.

Expressing his thoughts on the new role, Mr. Kundu said, “It’s a dream come true to lead the Rooms Division at The Westin Himalayas, an iconic property that stands for excellence and well-being. I look forward to building on its legacy by elevating guest experiences, celebrating every success, and setting new benchmarks for service and performance.”
