Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Included in Fodor’s 2026 Global Hotel List
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has been included in Fodor’s 2026 list of the world’s top 100 hotels, an annual selection published by Fodor’s Travel, an international travel guide brand with a history spanning more than eight decades.
The Hanoi-based property was one of 15 hotels from Asia featured on the list and the only hotel from Vietnam to receive recognition in the 2026 edition of Fodor’s Finest Hotels.
In its citation, Fodor’s highlighted the hotel’s layout across two distinct wings. The Heritage Wing, renovated in 2023, reflects French colonial architecture with Vietnamese design elements, while the Opera Wing features neoclassical styling with a contemporary colour palette.
Fodor’s editors also noted the hotel’s dining offerings, including Le Beaulieu, a French fine-dining restaurant recognised in the MICHELIN Guide, and Spice Garden, which focuses on Vietnamese cuisine.
According to Fodor’s, its editorial team reviewed a global hotel landscape estimated at more than 765,000 hotels and resorts, narrowing the selection to properties they would recommend for travel in 2026.
Fodor’s recognition adds to several other acknowledgements the hotel has received in recent months. In October, the property was awarded a MICHELIN Key in the MICHELIN Guide’s first Vietnam edition. The hotel has also been recognised by Business Traveller in its 2025 Asia-Pacific business hotel rankings and by Robb Report Hong Kong in its 2026 listings.

In addition, the hotel was named a leading city hotel in Vietnam in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025 and included in Condé Nast Traveller’s Gold List 2025, as well as Travel + Leisure’s World’s 500 Best Hotels list.
These recognitions reflect the hotel’s continued presence across international travel and hospitality rankings.
