SAMHI Hotels Secures MIDC Approval to Extend Development of Dual-Branded Hotel in Navi Mumbai

SAMHI Hotels Limited has received formal confirmation from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) granting an extension to the development timeline for its hotel project in Navi Mumbai. This approval allows SAMHI to proceed with the construction of a dual-branded hotel featuring approximately 700 rooms, located near the Navi Mumbai International Airport and DY Patil Stadium. Phase 1 of the project is planned to include around 400 rooms.

The proposed hotel, anticipated to operate under the Westin and Fairfield by Marriott brands (pending final agreements), will be SAMHI’s largest property by room count. This project aligns with the company’s strategy of developing high-quality assets in key urban markets.

Project Overview:

  • Location: Along the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, near Navi Mumbai International Airport, DY Patil Stadium, and Atal Setu Trans-Harbour Link

  • Scale: ~700 rooms, dual-branded configuration

  • Brands: Westin (Upper Upscale) and Fairfield by Marriott (Upper Mid-scale)

  • Status: MIDC extension granted for development timeline

  • Significance: Marks SAMHI’s first project in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and will be its largest property by room count

The extension clarifies the project schedule and aligns it with commercial and infrastructure growth in Navi Mumbai. The dual-branded format will allow SAMHI to address a variety of demand segments, including aviation, corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), sports, entertainment, and leisure. This approach will support balanced occupancy rates and overall performance.
