PATA Signs MoU with Phuket Hotels Association to Strengthen Responsible Tourism Collaboration

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has entered into a new partnership with the Phuket Hotels Association (PHA), a nonprofit organisation representing a range of hotels across Phuket in southern Thailand.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid and Jayne MacDougall, Executive Director of PHA, and establishes a mutual affiliate membership between the two organisations.

Commenting on the agreement, Hamid said the partnership will support collaboration with PHA in strengthening Phuket’s position as a destination focused on quality tourism offerings and sustainable practices.

MacDougall said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to responsible tourism, regional cooperation, and innovation, with the aim of supporting long-term outcomes for Phuket and the wider region.

The agreement will enable joint initiatives, including mutual promotion of events and, where relevant, speaker participation. Members and representatives of both organisations will also have opportunities to connect through networking sessions and annual events, with registration support provided in line with the MoU.

In addition, the partnership will support knowledge sharing by enabling PHA to share selected tourism research and insights with the PATA network on a quarterly basis through member newsletters and relevant online channels.
