Novotel Hyderabad Airport Receives Green Key Certification
Novotel Hyderabad Airport Strengthens Sustainability Commitment with Green Key Recognition
Novotel Hyderabad Airport, located at GMR Aerocity in Hyderabad, has been awarded the Green Key Certification by the National Jury Green Key India and the Centre for Environment Education (CEE).
With this recognition, the hotel becomes the first in South India and the third in the country to receive the certification.
The property has continued to focus on sustainable operations and guest well-being. Its approach includes measures to reduce environmental impact while maintaining consistent service standards.
Key initiatives at the hotel include installing EV charging stations, a wastewater treatment plant, energy-saving systems in guest rooms, and rainwater harvesting. The hotel also maintains a green patch to source herbs and greens, alongside efforts to reduce food waste and optimise water usage in laundry operations.
These steps are part of a broader effort to manage natural resources efficiently and support environmental protection.
Sukhbir Singh, General Manager, said the certification reflects the hotel’s ongoing sustainability efforts. He noted that the team remains focused on integrating eco-friendly practices into daily operations while ensuring a comfortable stay for guests.

The Green Key Certification is an eco-label awarded to hospitality establishments that meet defined environmental standards. It recognises efforts in areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and responsible operations.
This milestone highlights the hotel’s continued focus on environmental responsibility and its role in contributing to sustainable practices within the hospitality sector.
