Delta Adds Basic Fares to Premium Cabin Products
Delta Basic Fares Expand Across Delta One, First and Premium Select
Delta Air Lines has introduced Basic fares across its premium cabin products, including Delta First, Delta Premium Select and Delta One, with the new Delta One entry-level option named Basic Business.
Available in selected markets from 8 July 2026, the expanded fare structure gives travellers a lower-priced way to book premium cabins while allowing them to choose the level of flexibility and benefits that best suit their journey.
More Choice for Premium Travellers
The Basic fare offers the same onboard experience as Delta’s Classic and Extra fare options but includes fewer travel benefits in exchange for a lower fare.
Passengers travelling on Basic fares will receive seats after check-in, have a reduced checked baggage allowance, earn fewer SkyMiles, and will not be eligible for complimentary or paid upgrades. Same-day flight changes are also unavailable, while ticket changes or cancellations can be made for a fee.
Introducing Basic Business
For Delta One passengers, the new Basic Business fare provides access to the full onboard Delta One cabin experience, including lie-flat seating, premium dining, bedding and onboard amenities.
However, the fare does not include Delta One check-in or complimentary access to Delta One Lounges or Delta Sky Clubs through the ticket itself after 19 January 2027. Until 18 January 2027, passengers travelling on Basic Business will continue to receive lounge and Delta One check-in access as part of a transition period.
Premium Experience On Board
Passengers travelling in Basic Business will continue to receive Zone 1 boarding, lie-flat seats on eligible aircraft, chef-prepared meals, complimentary beverages, bedding, hot towel service and onboard amenity kits.
The main differences between Basic Business and Delta One Classic or Extra relate to flexibility, mileage earning, baggage allowance and airport services rather than the onboard experience.
Rollout Across Markets
Delta First Basic is now available on selected domestic routes and certain services to Latin America.
Delta Premium Select Basic and Basic Business are available for booking from 8 July 2026, with travel beginning from September 2026 on selected domestic and long-haul international routes.
Availability will vary depending on route and market and can be booked through Delta’s website, mobile app, reservations team and travel partners.
