NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort Reopens in Baa Atoll After Refurbishment and Rebrand

NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort, a long-established retreat in Baa Atoll, has reopened after an extensive refurbishment and rebrand, offering a fresh take on Maldivian hospitality for today’s travellers. Set on the natural island of Fonimagoodhoo, the refreshed NH Collection resort features 105 redesigned villas, upgraded dining venues, enhanced family-focused facilities, and a renovated spa, all set within landscaped surroundings that preserve the island’s character.

Set within a UNESCO-protected biosphere reserve, the resort continues to prioritise sustainability across design and operations. The NH Collection refurbishment incorporates responsibly sourced materials, waste-reduction measures, and a newly planted garden that supplies herbs for the kitchen and fresh blooms for the villas—supporting self-sufficiency and a closer connection with local plant life.

Villas Designed Around Ocean Views and Natural Materials

The resort’s villas are positioned to maximise ocean views, blending contemporary design with nature-led details, such as open-air showers and timber and bamboo. Interiors feature warm neutral tones that complement the vibrant outdoor setting.

Thatched-roof beach villas face the sunset and are located near the house reef, with options ranging from couples’ retreats to a two-bedroom family villa with a private plunge pool and sundeck. The Reethi Suite (150 sqm) is set within its own private garden on a quieter stretch of beach, offering a long private pool and sunrise-facing ocean views.

Meanwhile, 30 overwater villas form a gentle crescent at the island’s northern tip, offering uninterrupted ocean views. Inside, design elements reflect Maldivian artistry, with select features crafted by in-house artisans using recycled materials.

Diving, Water Sports, Family Activities and Marine Encounters

The NH Collection resort offers a wide range of activities for couples, families, and adventure seekers. Guests can explore scuba diving and freediving, as well as water sports such as catamaran sailing, jet-skiing, and kayaking. The nearby house reef is home to marine life, including angelfish, clownfish, reef sharks, and sea turtles.

Hanifaru Bay—around 15 minutes away—draws visitors during seasonal gatherings of manta rays and whale sharks. For a slower pace, guests can enjoy a sunset cruise with refreshments, relax at the ocean-facing swimming pool, or spend time at the expanded kids’ club with indoor and outdoor play zones and a shaded family pool.

Revamped Fitness and Wellness at REVIVE Spa & Wellness

Recreation facilities have been upgraded with modern gym equipment and covered sports areas to support year-round activity. Guests can play volleyball, tennis, badminton, or pickleball before unwinding at REVIVE Spa & Wellness.

Signature treatments include the Maldivian Delight, featuring a coconut scrub, virgin coconut oil massage, a refreshing sorbet, and a take-home oil. The Couples Ritual includes a shared massage and a milk-and-coconut bath overlooking the tropical garden. Wellness offerings also include magnesium-based therapies, Ayurvedic rituals, Crystal Chakra Healing, Himalayan Thermal Therapy, and Elemis high-performance facials.

Eight Dining and Bar Concepts Across the Island

The NH Collection resort offers eight restaurants and bars catering to a variety of dining styles. Jumla serves all-day global cuisine, while Alifaan focuses on steaks and seafood in a beachfront setting. Kaiyo delivers Asian-inspired menus with 360-degree ocean views, and Madumaithiri offers comfort options such as pizzas, burgers, wraps, and salads.

Caravela is a reservations-only venue with limited seating, pairing inventive cuisine with wines from the resort’s cellar and curated sommelier experiences. For casual settings, Atardecer offers tapas, cocktails, DJ sets and fire shows, while Splash Bar serves lighter lunch options. Handhuvaru bar introduces a distinctive concept with rum aged in the ocean environment.

Private dining is available through the resort’s ‘Adrift’ experience, with options on a secluded sandbar, a moonlit beach, or within the villa. The property also caters to weddings and vow renewals, offering two beachside venues overlooking the sea.

Location and Transfers

NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort is located 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé, or via a 20-minute domestic flight from Malé to Dharavandhoo Airport, followed by a 15-minute speedboat transfer to the island.
