Marriott International Opens Protea Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton in Kinshasa, DR Congo
Marriott International has entered the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the openings of Protea Hotel by Marriott Kinshasa and Four Points by Sheraton Kinshasa. The launch introduces internationally recognised hotel brands to Kinshasa, offering accommodation options for business and leisure travellers.
Located along the Congo River, Kinshasa is a hub for diplomacy, regional trade, and the arts. With a population of over 17 million, the city offers visitors a mix of culture, commerce, and connectivity, including music, culinary experiences, markets, and access to Central Africa’s natural attractions.
Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brands, EMEA, Marriott International, said: “With the openings of Four Points by Sheraton Kinshasa and Protea Hotel by Marriott Kinshasa, we are providing travellers and Marriott Bonvoy members new options for accommodation in Kinshasa while expanding Marriott’s presence in Africa.”
SARV Management LLC manages both hotels. Karim Minsariya, Director, SAMAY Hospitality SARL, the ownership company for both properties, added: “These openings support Kinshasa’s growth as a destination for business and leisure and contribute to local employment and skills development.”
Protea Hotel by Marriott Kinshasa

Protea Hotel by Marriott Kinshasa offers 88 guest rooms combining contemporary comfort with local character and service. Located in an upscale neighbourhood near the Congo River, the hotel is close to government offices, corporate headquarters, and shopping areas. Guest rooms feature balconies and city views.

The hotel features a bright atrium lobby with natural light, local artwork, and greenery, as well as an indoor pool. Dining options include Marché 15, an all-day restaurant, and the Lobby Bar. Additional amenities include a fitness centre and a 56-square-metre conference room.
Four Points by Sheraton Kinshasa

Four Points by Sheraton Kinshasa is located in the central business district and offers 134 guest rooms designed for business and leisure travellers. The hotel provides fast Wi-Fi, the Four Comfort Bed, and breakfast options.
Dining options include Lufira Restaurant, 83 Sky Lounge Bar, and a bar offering local beers. The hotel features a rooftop pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, and 230 square metres of meeting space across four rooms with modern conference facilities.

Both hotels participate in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing members to earn and redeem points, access experiences through Marriott Bonvoy Moments, and enjoy benefits such as mobile check-in and Elite recognition.
