Lufthansa Expands 100th Anniversary Fleet with A320neo and A350-900

Following the delivery of its Boeing 787-9 in the 100th anniversary livery, Lufthansa is preparing to add two more aircraft to its commemorative fleet. In the coming days, an Airbus A320neo and an Airbus A350-900 will roll out of paint facilities in Norwich, England, and Châteauroux, France, both featuring the airline’s anniversary design.

The special livery includes a blue fuselage with a white crane motif, with the crane’s wings extending into the aircraft’s wings. A “100” is placed on the left side of the fuselage, while “1926 | 2026” appears on the right. The number “100” is also visible on the underside of the aircraft.

The A320neo (D-AING) is scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt on January 19, 2026, and will enter regular service shortly after. Its first flight is planned to operate to Larnaca, Cyprus.

The A350-900 (D-AIXL) is currently expected to arrive in Munich on February 3, 2026.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9 (D-ABPU), which landed in Frankfurt on December 23, is set to begin regular operations on January 20, 2026, with its first scheduled flight to Mumbai, India.

Lufthansa plans to further expand the anniversary fleet through 2026. By fall, three additional aircraft are expected to receive the special livery: an Airbus A380, a Boeing 747-8, and Lufthansa’s first Airbus A350-1000, currently scheduled for delivery in October 2026.
