JOALI BEING Partners with Chef Kelvin Cheung for a Curated Culinary Programme

JOALI BEING has announced a culinary partnership with Kelvin Cheung, providing a specially curated dining experience on the island from February 18 to 22. The collaboration aims to foster connections among guests through food, emphasizing renewal, cultural exchange, and shared moments.
Born in Canada, raised in Chicago, and now based in Dubai, Chef Kelvin Cheung’s culinary perspective has been shaped by living across cultures. Drawing on his Chinese heritage, North American upbringing, and classical French training, his cuisine reflects a personal narrative influenced by movement, memory, and balance. These values align with both the spirit of Lunar New Year and JOALI BEING’s philosophy of well-living through conscious and considered experiences.
The partnership unfolds across JOALI BEING’s signature spaces through a curated programme of dining and culinary engagements. Guests can participate in shared dining experiences focused on storytelling and connection, as well as in interactive workshops at the resort’s Culinary Learning Centre. Food is presented not only as nourishment, but as a creative and mindful expression shaped by intention and presence.
Chef Kelvin’s approach emphasises responsibly sourced ingredients, both local and global, prepared with respect for nature and the moments created around the table. His participation forms part of JOALI BEING’s broader Lunar New Year celebrations, which honour tradition, renewal, and togetherness.
Programme Highlights

The culinary programme includes a series of set-menu dinners featuring Chef Kelvin’s Third Culture dishes, where flavours reflect cross-cultural influences. Hands-on cooking classes allow guests to explore his culinary perspective through guided, interactive sessions. A dedicated cooking class for children encourages younger guests to experiment with familiar ingredients, supporting creativity, confidence, and curiosity through food.
The Lunar New Year celebrations extend beyond dining, with a two-week calendar of culinary and cultural activities. These include hot pot gatherings, tea rituals, cooking demonstrations, and celebratory meals, as well as wellness practices, marine activities, recreational sports, workshops, and sunset gatherings. The programme is designed for guests of all ages and encourages participation across the island.
Families and groups can also consider JOALI BEING’s Residence Escape Offer, available for extended stays in the island’s three- and four-bedroom residences. The offer is designed to support unhurried living, shared rituals, and time spent together during the festive period.
