Jamaica Tourist Board Concludes JAPEX 2025, Strengthening Global Tourism Partnerships

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has announced the successful conclusion of the 2025 Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), the island’s premier trade event in tourism. Held from September 22 to 24 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, JAPEX 2025 brought together international buyers, tour operators, media representatives, and travel professionals to interact with Jamaica’s tourism sector, including hotels, attractions, and other industry stakeholders.

A Platform for Collaboration

Across three days, JAPEX 2025 highlighted Jamaica’s role in the global tourism market. The event provided a platform for industry networking and showcased the island’s wide range of tourism offerings, from resorts and adventure activities to cultural experiences and heritage attractions.

The theme “Ready, Set, Go” reflected Jamaica’s intention to collaborate with international partners on strategies that support sustainable tourism growth.

“Jamaica is at the top of the region in terms of the growth rate since Covid, and that’s a story that we want to be told,” said Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism.

“But that growth isn’t just about numbers. It’s about how tourism has built the capacity of our people to add value and enabled new experiences to emerge so that we can be more attractive, remain relevant to the world traveling community.”

Strengthening Ties with the Indian Market

JAPEX 2025 saw participation from Indian travel agents and media representatives, who attended business sessions to explore opportunities for positioning Jamaica as a long-haul travel destination. Discussions focused on promoting Jamaica as a destination for leisure travel, weddings, honeymoons, and milestone celebrations among Indian travelers.

Post-Show Familiarization

Following the trade event, delegates joined familiarization tours to experience Jamaica’s tourism landscape firsthand. These tours included visits to major attractions, accommodations, and community initiatives, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the destination’s offerings.

JAPEX 2025 reflects the Jamaica Tourist Board’s ongoing efforts to build global partnerships and expand its presence in key international markets.
