IHG to Bring InterContinental Brand Back to Prague’s Old Town
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of InterContinental Prague, marking the return of the InterContinental brand to the Czech capital. The 137-key hotel is expected to open in the first half of 2029, joining Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre and Holiday Inn Prague Airport as part of IHG’s presence in the city.
The property is located at Jeruzalemska 8 in Prague’s Old Town and is part of the European real estate portfolio managed by Generali Real Estate. The historic building, dating back to 1839, has served multiple functions over the years, including a dance hall, theatre, and office space. Generali Real Estate will oversee the renovation, which will convert the site into InterContinental Prague.
Situated close to the main Railway Station, the hotel will offer convenient access to transport connections across the city. Its central location places guests within walking distance of landmarks such as Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and the Prague Astronomical Clock.
InterContinental Prague will feature a spa with a wellness area and pool, a bar and restaurant, and the brand’s Club InterContinental lounge. The property will also include a private garden designed as a relaxing space for guests and the local community. Conference facilities will support business travellers, with proximity to corporate offices in the city centre.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the signing marks a significant step in the company’s strategy for Central and Eastern Europe and strengthens its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the region.

Ramon Spoladore, Head of CEE & Nordics, Generali Real Estate, noted that the collaboration with IHG will restore and repurpose an important heritage building while contributing to Prague’s expanding hospitality landscape.
InterContinental Prague will join IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Europe, which includes 112 open hotels and 67 in development across brands such as Six Senses, Kimpton, and InterContinental.
