IHG signs Holiday Inn Express Mumbai BKC with YB Group

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a franchise agreement with the YB Group to develop Holiday Inn Express Mumbai BKC. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028 and will add to IHG’s Essentials portfolio in Mumbai, supporting its expansion strategy in high-demand Indian markets.

The property will be located on the periphery of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), one of Mumbai’s key commercial districts and home to corporate headquarters, consulates, cultural venues, hotels, dining destinations, and retail spaces. The location is expected to appeal to a mix of domestic and international business travellers, MICE guests, and leisure visitors, given its connectivity to major business and commercial areas.

Holiday Inn Express is IHG’s largest brand globally, with more than 3,200 hotels in operation. The brand focuses on efficient, comfortable stays, offering streamlined services, functional workspaces, and modern design through its Generation 5 standards, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the partnership with the YB Group supports IHG’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Mumbai’s business districts and address year-round corporate travel demand.

Tinaaz Wadia, Asset Manager – Real Estate Strategy, YB Group, said the collaboration reflects the group’s focus on developing hospitality assets in established commercial locations, supported by IHG’s brand and operating platform.

Holiday Inn Express Mumbai BKC will be IHG’s third Holiday Inn Express hotel under development in Mumbai, alongside projects on Andheri–Kurla Road and in Powai. The group also has a voco hotel planned to open in mid-2026 and currently operates InterContinental Marine Drive Mumbai and Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport.

Across India, IHG operates 51 hotels under six brands, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express, with a development pipeline of around 80 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
