IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd to develop Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari in south-eastern Nepal, scheduled to open in 2026. The signing marks the second collaboration between the two companies, following the launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha.

Holiday Inn Express, with more than 3,200 hotels worldwide, offers streamlined services, modern design, and flexible spaces for business and leisure guests. The new hotel in Dhulabari will feature 99 rooms and suites, an all-day dining outlet, a rooftop dining option, a banquet hall, a fitness centre, and parking facilities.

Located in the Jhapa District, near the Nepal-India border at Kakarvitta and close to Chandragadi Domestic Airport, the hotel will be accessible to both domestic and international travellers. The Pathibhara Devi Temple, a significant pilgrimage site, is within a 15 km drive.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “The opening of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari will strengthen our presence in Nepal and build on our partnership with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd.”

Mrs. Binita Thapa Khadka, Chairperson of Hotel Eastern Nepal Ltd, added: “Our previous collaboration with IHG demonstrated their operational capability and brand value, which encouraged us to move forward with this project. We see Dhulabari as a strong location for growth.”

The hotel will cater to business travellers, tourists, and local guests, including those from the region’s commercial and agricultural sectors. With limited branded hotel supply in the area, it is expected to attract meetings, events, and social gatherings.
