Hotel Solaya Opens in Old Town Scottsdale with JdV by Hyatt
Scottsdale Welcomes Hotel Solaya to JdV by Hyatt Portfolio
Hotel Solaya has opened in Old Town Scottsdale, joining the JdV by Hyatt portfolio following a full renovation.
The hotel introduces a design-led concept shaped by modern Mexican influences and the character of Scottsdale. It includes 194 redesigned guestrooms and suites, shared spaces featuring local artwork, multiple dining venues, a spa and fitness centre, and an outdoor pool area designed for social gatherings.
The name “Solaya” combines “Sol”, meaning sun, and “Aya”, associated with dawn, reflecting the theme of light and renewal that runs through the property’s design and guest experience.
Architecturally, the hotel draws on the natural setting of the Sonoran Desert, using materials, textures, and lighting to create a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The design approach focuses on clean lines, natural tones, and open layouts.

According to General Manager Tobby Rau, the property has been designed to reflect Scottsdale’s energy while offering a comfortable, social environment for guests.
Dining and Social Spaces
Dining is centred around several concepts within the hotel. Ella on the Park, scheduled to open later in spring, will offer a modern American menu with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking Civic Centre Park. The restaurant will also include a central bar area designed for both dining and evening gatherings.
Common Ground Bistro, located in the lobby, provides a more casual setting with a focus on coffee, breakfast, and light meals throughout the day.
The outdoor pool area, known as The Pool at Solaya, serves as a central social space, with cabanas, lounge seating, and food and beverage service available throughout the day.
