Hilton Opens Three Hotels at Barr Al Jissah on Oman’s Coast

Hilton has opened three hotels at Barr Al Jissah, a waterfront destination located along Oman’s coastline and known for its natural setting between the cliffs of Al Jissah and the Gulf of Oman. Owned by The Zubair Corporation, the properties are approximately 40 minutes from Muscat International Airport and offer a range of accommodation, event, and leisure options.

Niels Bormans, Group Chief Executive Officer, The Zubair Corporation, said the partnership with Hilton marks an important step for Barr Al Jissah Resorts and the wider hospitality sector in Oman. He noted that the collaboration aims to support tourism growth, skills development and long-term value creation in line with national objectives.

Three hotels, three distinct experiences

Each of the three hotels at Barr Al Jissah offers a different positioning while sharing access to common facilities across the destination.

Al Husn Hotel Muscat features 180 guest rooms and suites overlooking the Gulf of Oman. Designed with architectural elements inspired by an Omani fort, the adults-focused hotel caters primarily to couples and leisure travellers seeking a quiet coastal stay. Facilities include a private beach, an infinity pool and a spa. The property is scheduled to undergo renovations in 2027, after which it will be rebranded as a Waldorf Astoria.

Hilton Muscat Al Bandar serves as the destination’s events and lifestyle hub. The 198-room hotel includes indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom with capacity for up to 850 guests, outdoor venues and an amphitheatre. Dining options include a poolside bar and several restaurants and lounges, serving both leisure and business travellers.

DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha is positioned as a family-oriented resort. The property offers 302 guest rooms and suites and is designed to reflect the layout of a traditional Omani village. Facilities include multiple swimming pools, a waterslide and access to shared amenities across Barr Al Jissah, making it suitable for family stays and group travel.

Shared destination amenities

Guests across all three hotels have access to shared recreational and leisure facilities within the Barr Al Jissah complex. These include multiple swimming pools, tennis courts, a lazy river and more than 500 metres of private beachfront. Water-based activities such as kayaking and diving are available, supported by a PADI-certified dive centre offering courses for different experience levels.

Wellness facilities include The Spa, which offers treatments inspired by Omani Rose, and Luban Spa, which incorporates Frankincense-based therapies.

All three hotels participate in Hilton Honors, Hilton’s loyalty programme. Members who book directly can access benefits such as flexible payment options using Points and cash, member-only discounts, standard Wi-Fi and use of the Hilton Honors mobile app.
