Emirates Advises Passengers to Prepare for Peak Travel from January 2 to 5

Emirates has advised customers to plan for a busy travel period during the first week of January, with higher volumes of departures and arrivals expected between January 2 and January 5. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at the airport well in advance to avoid potential road congestion, increased parking demand, and longer processing times.

To help customers travel more smoothly during this period, Emirates has shared the following recommendations:

Use remote check-in options

Passengers can reduce time spent at the airport by using Emirates’ remote check-in facilities.

  • Emirates City Check-In and Travel Store, DIFC: Located at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai International Financial Centre, this facility allows passengers to check in and drop off luggage 24 to 4 hours before departure. Complimentary parking is available, and customers using this service until January 15 will receive 2,500 Emirates Skywards Miles. The facility operates daily from 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight.

  • Emirates City Check In, Ajman: A 24-hour facility at Ajman Central Bus Terminal, allowing check-in and baggage drop from 24 hours up to 4 hours before departure.

Consider Emirates Home Check-In

Emirates also offers Home Check-In services in Dubai and Sharjah, where agents complete the check-in process at a passenger’s home, hotel, or office and transfer baggage directly to the flight. This service must be booked at least 24 hours before departure and is complimentary for First Class customers and Platinum Emirates Skywards members.

Use public transport where possible

Passengers are encouraged to consider public transport options such as the Dubai Metro to avoid road congestion. The Red Line provides direct access to Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, offering a practical alternative during peak traffic hours.

Arrive early at the airport

Emirates Adds Fifth Daily Flight to Egypt

Emirates recommends arriving at Dubai International Airport at least four hours before departure. This allows sufficient time for check-in, baggage drop, immigration, and security checks. Passengers should aim to reach the boarding gate at least one hour before departure, preselect seats where possible, and ensure all travel documents are valid.

The airline advises customers to plan ahead and use available digital and off-airport services to reduce travel-related delays during the peak period.
