Emirates Becomes Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball
Emirates and Real Madrid have announced a multi-year partnership, designating Emirates as the Official Main Sponsor of the Spanish professional basketball club. This agreement takes effect immediately, with Emirates’ ‘Fly Better’ branding appearing on the team’s jerseys. This aligns with its existing presence on both the men’s and women’s football teams. The partnership also marks Emirates’ entry into European basketball as part of its ongoing commitment to global sports engagement.
As part of the partnership, Emirates will receive branding opportunities at Movistar Arena Madrid, including scoreboard and virtual signage, hospitality and ticketing benefits, social media and marketing rights for global campaigns, and advertising rights. The airline will also have access to the Ciudad Real Madrid Training Complex to host exclusive hospitality visits, player meet-and-greets, and youth clinics.
Emirates has been involved in basketball for over three decades, providing support to grassroots clubs, international leagues, and the NBA. In 2024, Emirates became the Official Global Airline Partner of the NBA and the inaugural title partner of the Emirates NBA Cup. Additionally, it became the first-ever partner to feature a logo on referee jerseys. The airline has also supported the UAE Basketball Association, the Dubai International Basketball Championship, and the 2014 FIBA World Championship held in the UAE, as well as sponsoring the Beirut Basketball Club.
In Spain, Emirates continues to sponsor Real Madrid and annual ATP tournaments, including the Mutua Madrid Open and Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. The airline currently operates 28 weekly flights to Spain, with 14 flights each to Madrid and Barcelona, including seven weekly flights from Dubai to Mexico City via Barcelona.
