The collaboration will support the expansion of the EEMC, part of the airline’s US$300 million investment to increase infrastructure and capabilities for maintaining, repairing and overhauling aircraft engines across its fleet.

As part of the agreement, GE Aerospace will provide technical support for the development of a piece-part component repair line and will also work with the airline on knowledge transfer and training programmes focused on repair processes and operational practices.

Adel Al Redha said the partnership represents an important step in strengthening the airlines’ engine repair capabilities through infrastructure investment and workforce development.

He added that the collaboration would help provide specialized training for repair work related to GE90 and GP7200 engines, which power the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft and are part of its Airbus A380 fleet.
