Air New Zealand Adds Western Sydney Airport to Trans-Tasman Network

Air New Zealand to Launch Western Sydney Flights

Air New Zealand will begin flights to Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) from 26 October, becoming the airport’s first international airline. The new service will provide travellers with an additional Sydney gateway alongside the airline’s existing operations at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport.

The route will operate three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.

Flight Schedule

 

The new service will operate as follows:

Auckland – Western Sydney International (WSI)

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Depart Auckland: 6:00 am
  • Arrive WSI: 7:45 am

Western Sydney International (WSI) – Auckland

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Depart WSI: 8:55 am
  • Arrive Auckland: 2:10 pm

Expanding Trans-Tasman Connectivity

The new route provides another travel option between New Zealand and Australia while improving access to Western Sydney, one of the country’s fastest-growing regions.

The service is expected to support travel for families, business travellers and tourists, while strengthening connections between New Zealand and Western Sydney.

“More than 2.5 million people live in Western Sydney, including a large New Zealand community. Flying directly into the region provides another travel option across the Tasman while supporting business and tourism links between New Zealand and Australia.”

She added that the new service offers travellers easier access to Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains and onward connections across the airline’s network.

Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the new route are now available, with one-way Seat fares from Auckland to Western Sydney International starting from NZ$319.

The launch marks the start of international passenger services at Western Sydney International Airport as it prepares to welcome its first overseas flights.
