Emirates Expands Boeing 777X Order at Dubai Airshow 2025
Emirates has announced an order for 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft powered by GE9X engines, valued at US$38 billion at list prices, on the opening day of Dubai Airshow 2025.
This expands Emirates’ total Boeing orderbook to 315 widebody aircraft, including 270 Boeing 777Xs, 10 Boeing 777 freighters, and 35 Boeing 787s. With this agreement, the airline’s total GE9X engine order rises to 540 units, reflecting long-term collaboration with GE Aerospace.
The latest order also supports Boeing’s ongoing feasibility study for the 777-10, a larger addition to the 777X family. Emirates has secured options to convert part of its new 777 9 order to either the 777 10 or the 777 8.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, highlighted the airline’s continued investment in a modern fleet aligned with Dubai’s growth plans and its ongoing partnership with Boeing and GE.
Boeing and GE Aerospace executives acknowledged Emirates’ long-standing relationship with both manufacturers and noted the continued joint focus on efficiency and fleet development.

Over the past four decades, Emirates has operated every model in the Boeing 777 family and currently flies the world’s largest 777 fleet, powered by GE90 engines. The airline’s 140+ destinations are supported by its 777-300ER, 777-200LR, and 777 freighter operations across six continents.
Following this order, Emirates expects Boeing aircraft deliveries through 2038, supporting skilled aerospace manufacturing jobs across several U.S. states involved in the 777X and GE9X programmes.
