Emirates Conducts Travel Rehearsal Programme in Denpasar
Emirates has conducted its first “Travel Rehearsal” programme in Denpasar, aimed at supporting individuals with accessible travel requirements and helping make air travel more structured and predictable.

The initiative forms part of the airline’s “Accessible Travel for All” approach and was first introduced in Dubai in 2024. Since then, the programme has been implemented in several cities, including Barcelona, Brisbane, Manila, Madrid, Toronto, and Denpasar. As part of its accessibility framework, more than 30,000 Emirates cabin crew and ground staff have completed specialised training focused on autism awareness, sensory sensitivities, and support strategies.

The session was held on 18 February at Denpasar International Airport and involved 17 participants, including eight children with autism accompanied by teachers and a parent.
Participants were guided through each stage of the airport and inflight journey, including arrival procedures, check-in, security screening, immigration, boarding, cabin seating, inflight experience, disembarkation, baggage claim, customs clearance, and final pick-up arrangements. The structured rehearsal was designed to familiarise participants with airport environments and processes ahead of future travel.
Beyond airport initiatives, Emirates also promotes awareness of neurodiversity through its inflight entertainment system, ice, which features curated films, documentaries, podcasts, and television content focused on inclusion and understanding.
In April 2025, the airline released a video outlining its accessibility initiatives and the international rollout of the Travel Rehearsal programme, highlighting how structured preparation and trained staff can support neurodiverse passengers during their journeys.

Majid Al Falasi, Emirates County Manager Indonesia, said, “Last year, Emirates became the world’s first Autism Certified Airline, demonstrating the airline’s long-term commitment to accessible travel. Through the efforts of Emirates’ Autism Centre and their partners, we were fortunate enough to bring this travel rehearsal to Denpasar and play an active role in enhancing the travel experience for people with accessible travel requirements.
“We thank our partners for contributing to this initiative including PT JAS Airport Services (GHA), PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Immigration Authorities, Quarantine and Customs officials and CAA – Airport Authority Region IV. This milestone not only reflects Bali’s importance as a global destination, but also Emirates’ commitment to inclusive travel across its network.”
