Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has entered into a strategic Sales and Marketing agreement with the luxury train, Palace on Wheels. The partnership aims to increase the train’s visibility and ticket sales in key overseas markets, including Europe, the United Kingdom, and Asia.

Under the agreement, Eight Continents will use its industry network, marketing experience, and established relationships within the travel sector to promote the Palace on Wheels experience internationally. A dedicated campaign will target travellers across these regions, while ticket sales will be supported through the company’s sales channels, including travel agencies, tour operators, and direct-to-consumer platforms.

Operated as a joint venture between Indian Railways and the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, the Palace on Wheels offers rail journeys through Rajasthan’s landscapes and historic cities. Known for its heritage-inspired interiors, premium amenities, and cultural itineraries, the train has attracted travellers from various parts of the world. However, increasing its presence in overseas markets has been a continuing goal.

“We are incredibly excited about this partnership,” said Haninder Sachdeva, CEO of Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts.

“Palace on Wheels embodies the very best of luxury rail travel and offers a truly distinctive way to explore India’s rich cultural heritage. Our mission is to make this exceptional journey more accessible to a wider international audience, particularly in Europe, the UK, and Asia.”

Highlighting the importance of the agreement, Mr Sachdeva added, “This partnership aligns with our approach to promote unique travel experiences globally. We see potential in the Palace on Wheels brand and believe our expertise in international sales and marketing will help reach a broader audience.”

The collaboration is expected to support inbound tourism to India, particularly from established luxury travel markets in the UK and Europe. Travellers in these regions will have easier access to booking and planning their journey aboard the Palace on Wheels.
