Effotel by Sayaji Opens in Sangli, Expanding the Brand’s Presence in Maharashtra

Sayaji Hotels has announced the opening of Effotel by Sayaji, Sangli, a new property under its Effotel brand in western Maharashtra. Located within Shiv R City Mall on Sangli–Miraj Road, the hotel adds branded accommodation to a city known for its commercial and agricultural activity.

With this opening, Effotel by Sayaji, Sangli, becomes the brand’s third property in Maharashtra, joining the Effotel locations in Sarola, Pune district, and Navi Mumbai. The expansion reflects the group’s focus on introducing mid-upscale hospitality options in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Located within Shiv R City Mall on Sangli–Miraj Road, the hotel adds branded accommodation to a city known for its commercial and agricultural activity.With this opening, Effotel by Sayaji, Sangli becomes the brand’s third property in Maharashtra, joining Effotel locations in Sarola in Pune district and Navi Mumbai. The expansion reflects the group’s focus on introducing mid-upscale hospitality options in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.The hotel offers 59 guest rooms across five categories. These include 15 Grande Rooms (284 sq. ft.), 34 Premium Grande Rooms (309 sq. ft.), six Executive Grande Rooms (373 sq. ft.), two Grande Suites (506 sq. ft.), and two Premium Suites (766 sq. ft.). The accommodation is designed to serve business travellers, leisure guests and longer-stay visitors.Food and beverage facilities include The Cube, an all-day dining restaurant with seating for 120 guests, and Good Old Days, a bar with seating for 30. Both outlets are open to hotel guests as well as visitors from the city.Effotel by Sayaji, Sangli also includes two banquet venues. Jardin 1, spanning 4,295 sq. ft., can host up to 350 guests in a theatre-style setup, while Jardin 2, covering 2,355 sq. ft., can accommodate around 150 guests. The spaces are intended for corporate meetings, conferences and social gatherings.Sangli is widely known for turmeric trading and grape cultivation and functions as a key agricultural and commercial centre in western Maharashtra. The hotel is located about 7 km from Sangli Railway Station and 50 km from Kolhapur Airport, providing access for regional and domestic travellers.The city’s proximity to Kolhapur, which attracts visitors to the Mahalakshmi Temple and other cultural sites, also supports tourism and business travel in the region. Nearby attractions include Chandoli National Park, Sagareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, Sangli Fort, and the Dandoba Hills Forest Reserve.Rajendra Joshi, Associate General Manager at Sayaji Hotels, said Sangli has long been an economically active city but has had limited branded hospitality infrastructure.
