Mandarin Oriental Appoints General Managers for Cortina and Rome Hotels

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Nicola Abate and Mirko Cattini as General Managers for its upcoming properties in Cortina and Rome, both scheduled to open in 2027.

Nicola Abate- General Manager

Nicola Abate has been appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina. He brings over 25 years of experience in hospitality, with a background in operations, front office, and hotel management. He joined the group in 2020 as Resort Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como, and was most recently Hotel Manager at the group’s premium property in Milan. His earlier experience includes roles with Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, Park Hyatt Milan, Hotel de Russie in Rome, and Villa Feltrinelli.

Mirko Cattini- General Manager

Mirko Cattini has been appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Rome. He joined the group in June and brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience across Europe and Asia. His career includes senior roles with Shangri-La Group, Dorchester Collection, Corinthia Hotels, Taj Hotels, and Savoy Group (now Maybourne). Most recently, he was General Manager of Hotel Eden Rome.

Cattini also has a background in food and beverage leadership and holds certifications from the Hotel and Catering International Management Association in London and Cornell University’s General Managers Program.

Both appointments are part of the group’s plans for its upcoming hotel openings in Italy.
