Air India Upgrades Mobile App with New Digital Features

Air India Mobile App Adds Booking, Payments and Travel Tools

Air India has rolled out a range of new features on its mobile app, bringing together booking, payments, airport services, baggage tracking, loyalty management and AI-powered assistance on a single platform.

Developed by the airline’s in-house digital teams, the updated app is designed to help travellers manage every stage of their journey with greater convenience and control.

The latest update introduces several new capabilities, including:

  • An in-house booking engine with a simplified interface for flight searches, bookings and ancillary services.
  • An in-house payment platform that supports multiple payment options and promotional offers.
  • Disruption support that provides passengers with hotel accommodation and transport assistance when required.
  • AI-powered travel assistance through Air India’s virtual assistant.

Improved Travel Management

The updated app also enhances a number of existing features.

The personalised home screen now displays upcoming trips, boarding passes, travel offers and destination information in one place.

The My Trips section allows travellers to manage bookings, select seats and update meal preferences without contacting customer support.

Passengers can also check real-time flight updates via the Flight Status feature, while the integration with DigiYatra simplifies airport processing.

Baggage Tracking and AI Support

The baggage tracking feature enables customers to monitor checked baggage throughout their journey, including codeshare and interline flights. The app also supports locating delayed baggage via compatible tracking devices, such as Apple AirTags and Google-compatible trackers.

Air India’s AI-powered virtual assistant, AI.g, continues to assist customers with travel-related queries, while the EZ Booking feature helps create travel itineraries from simple text prompts.

Additional features include AEye Vision, which retrieves travel information using computer vision technology, a notification system for key travel updates, and a dedicated Maharaja Club section for managing loyalty benefits.

Several services, including My Trips, Flight Status, Baggage Tracking and food and beverage information, remain accessible even when users are offline.
