Andaz Shanghai ITC Opens with Nostalgia-Inspired Design and Contemporary Comfort
Set in Shanghai’s historic Xujiahui district, Andaz Shanghai ITC has opened to guests on February 3, 2026, offering city views and a design approach rooted in local memory and modern urban living. Located within the ITC Xujiahui complex, the hotel sits at the intersection of a long-established neighbourhood and one of the city’s key commercial hubs.
The hotel’s design draws on themes of nostalgia, referencing Shanghai’s sights, textures, and cultural cues to create a sense of familiarity while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. This concept aligns with the Andaz brand philosophy, derived from a Hindi word meaning “personal style,” in which each property is shaped by its local context.
Design Concept
The overarching idea behind Andaz Shanghai ITC is to create a “vertical neighbourhood” that reflects the layered character of Shanghai. Design elements throughout the hotel reference both the city’s past and present, from guest rooms and restaurants to public spaces and corridors.
The third-floor entrance features glass-brick walls and moss-toned rugs inspired by Shanghai’s historic laneways and early European-style architecture. This narrative continues at the 14th-floor lobby, where clean lines and material choices echo the city’s heritage in a contemporary setting.
Rooms and Suites

The hotel offers 267 rooms and suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Xujiahui district. Room sizes range from 45 square metres to 147 square metres, including the 147-square-metre Executive Suite. Interiors incorporate residential-style layouts, with subtle references to Shanghai’s urban landscape, including corridor designs inspired by the plane trees lining nearby streets.
Rooms are equipped with Nespresso coffee machines, Simmons firm mattresses, 55-inch IPTV systems, and Byredo Eleventh Hour bathroom amenities curated for Andaz. Select rooms feature outdoor terraces, while suites provide expanded living areas designed for longer stays.
Fitness and Leisure

The hotel’s fitness facilities follow the same design philosophy, offering a private and understated environment that prioritises comfort and discretion over a conventional gym layout.
Dining and Social Spaces
Andaz Shanghai ITC features three dining and bar venues:
- Rooftop Bar – Offering city views alongside tea-infused cocktails, with décor inspired by fashion photography and design.
- West Wing – A European and Shanghainese deli and wine bar focused on small plates, presented in a vintage-style setting.
- East Wing – An all-day dining venue serving breakfast and lunch through multiple food stations, transitioning in the evening to Shanghainese dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Private dining rooms and an outdoor terrace are also available.
Opening Offer for World of Hyatt Members

As part of its opening period, the hotel is offering a New Hotel Member Offer for World of Hyatt members. Valid for stays from February 10 to May 2, 2026, the offer includes daily breakfast for two guests, 500 bonus points per night, and an additional 2,000 points per stay. Bookings must be made through Hyatt’s official channels and are subject to standard cancellation terms.
With its opening, Andaz Shanghai ITC adds a new hospitality option to Xujiahui, combining references to Shanghai’s heritage with modern design and urban convenience.
