South Palms Panglao – MGallery Opens Lola’s Sanctuary, Introducing Bohol’s First International Resort Spa
South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection has introduced Lola’s Sanctuary, marking the opening of Bohol’s first international luxury resort spa. Located within the grounds of the newly launched MGallery property, the sanctuary draws on the island’s long-standing healing traditions to create a wellness experience rooted in local culture.
Lola’s Sanctuary is designed to connect guests with the island’s environment and heritage. Treatments incorporate knowledge passed down through Filipino healing practices, using botanicals grown at South Farm and methods that balance tradition with a contemporary approach.

“At South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection, our aim has always been to create experiences grounded in local identity. With Lola’s Sanctuary, we wanted to preserve Bohol’s ancestral healing traditions while presenting them through a refined lens. From the use of Asin Tibuok to our farm-sourced botanicals, each detail reflects the island’s heritage,” said Danish Khan, General Manager of South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection.
The opening completes the resort’s debut as Panglao’s first international hospitality brand, following its inauguration in August 2025. It reinforces the property’s vision of integrating design, culture, and wellbeing.
A Return to Ancestral Healing
A key feature of the sanctuary is Hilod Dalisay, a 90-minute body-purifying ritual inspired by traditional Filipino cleansing practices. The treatment incorporates Asin Tibuok — a rare salt produced in Bohol through a centuries-old process — along with lemongrass and virgin coconut oil. The ritual reflects a classic approach to Filipino wellness, emphasising clarity, grounding, and calm.
Guests can further explore Asin Tibuok’s heritage through the resort’s MGallery “M Moment,” an immersive experience that offers insight into the salt-making process alongside local artisans. The initiative aligns with MGallery’s focus on curating meaningful cultural encounters.
A Sanctuary Shaped by Nature
Guests enter through Lola’s Kitchen, an open-air space surrounded by pandan, lemongrass, and fruit trees, where detox beverages and herbal teas are prepared daily. Inside the sanctuary, treatment rooms and cabanas are designed for quiet retreat. All oils, scrubs, and compresses are crafted from ingredients cultivated at South Farm, located one kilometre from the resort.
Beyond spa treatments, the wellness offering includes beach yoga, mindfulness walks, and personalised fitness sessions at the resort’s Fit Studio. Each activity is intended to help guests connect with the natural setting and the slower rhythm of Bohol.
Lola’s Sanctuary adds a new dimension to South Palms Panglao – MGallery’s guest experience, blending cultural heritage with nature-focused wellness.
