Spirit Airlines Adds Key West to Network with New Fort Lauderdale Route Starting November 2025
Spirit Airlines has announced the launch of new service at Key West International Airport, introducing the only nonstop route between Key West and Fort Lauderdale starting November 6, 2025. Flights will operate four times weekly—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—before expanding to daily service on December 18, 2025.
This new route offers a faster alternative to driving and provides travellers with access to one-stop connections through Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale hub. Introductory fares start at $79 one-way and are now available at spirit.com.

“Key West is a distinct destination, and this new service offers guests a practical and affordable travel option,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines.
“We’re pleased to give travellers in the Florida Keys another way to explore the state.”
The route marks Spirit’s eighth destination in Florida, joining Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Pensacola, Tampa, and West Palm Beach.
Richard Strickland, Executive Director of Airports at Key West International Airport, welcomed the news, noting the added convenience and network access Spirit brings to the local market.
