Autograph Collection Hotels Opens Morea House in Cape Town’s Camps Bay
Inspired by Cape Town’s natural landscape, cultural diversity, and relaxed coastal lifestyle, Morea House, Autograph Collection, has opened in Camps Bay. The 90-room hotel becomes part of Autograph Collection Hotels, within Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of independent hotels.
Located along the Camps Bay coastline in Cape Town, the hotel sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the Twelve Apostles mountain range. The area is known for its beachfront promenade, cafés, restaurants, and local retail, offering a setting that balances coastal calm with urban activity.

Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brands, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, said the property reflects Cape Town’s character through its architecture, interiors, and connection to the surrounding landscape, encouraging guests to engage with the city and its people.
Design influenced by place

Designed by Cape Town–based interior architect Tristan du Plessis, Morea House draws on natural materials and textures. Timber, stone, and bronze finishes are paired with organic forms to create interiors that feel composed and welcoming.
The guestrooms and suites face the mountains, the ocean, or the beachfront and feature custom furnishings that reflect their respective views. Shared spaces include terraces and quieter corners displaying works by South African artists, blending contemporary design with references to local heritage.

Albert Smit, General Manager of Morea House, said the hotel aims to provide guests with a setting that supports rest, reflection, and exploration, whether for short stays or more extended visits to the region.
Dining experiences

Morea House offers several dining venues. OMRI, located on the ground floor, serves modern Lebanese cuisine shaped by South Africa’s coastal influences, with an emphasis on local produce. The space includes an indoor bar and a terrace facing the beach.
The Morea House Pool Restaurant on the second floor features seasonal dishes served in a relaxed poolside setting overlooking the ocean. Additional spaces include The Courtyard, designed for quieter moments such as reading or afternoon tea, and The Wine Room, intended for private tastings and small gatherings.
Wellness and outdoor experiences

Wellness programming at Morea House is integrated into the guest experience through daily activities and outdoor engagement. Offerings include swimming, yoga sessions, coastal walks, and guided mountain hikes. Guests can also participate in guided cold-water immersion experiences in the Atlantic.
The on-site spa takes a holistic approach, offering treatments such as the Morea Elemental Flow massage, which uses fynbos-based oils, and the Morea Ocean Radiance ritual, which combines thermal elements, bodywork, and sound therapy to support relaxation and balance.
