Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy Debuts in Greater China with Opening of Artik Suzhou
Marriott Bonvoy, part of Marriott International, has announced the opening of Artik Suzhou, introducing Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy in Greater China. The opening is the brand’s first location in Asia.
Located in Suzhou, the property combines modern design with cultural references from the city’s architectural, artistic, and craft traditions. Artik Suzhou is intended for business and leisure travelers looking for residential-style accommodation with space, flexibility, and local character.

Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer Group, Greater China at Marriott International, said the opening reflects changing travel preferences, with guests increasingly seeking longer stays, a sense of belonging, and closer connections to local destinations. She added that the launch expands Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio in Greater China to 26 brands, offering a residential-style stay supported by Marriott’s global standards.

Artik Suzhou is located within China Central Place, a mixed-use development in Gusu District, Suzhou, that combines retail, office, and cultural spaces. The property provides access to nearby city attractions, including the Humble Administrator’s Garden, Shantang Historic Street, and Suzhou Museum. Shilu Metro Station is within walking distance, and Suzhou Railway Station is about 4.5 kilometres away, offering high-speed rail connections to Shanghai in approximately 30 minutes.
The property offers one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 75 to 115 square metres. Design elements incorporate Jiangnan culture through floral motifs, lattice patterns, and materials inspired by Suzhou’s silk heritage. Each apartment includes amenities such as fully equipped kitchens and in-unit washers and dryers, suitable for short and extended stays.

Guests can manage much of their stay through a Digital Property Guide, a web-based platform providing information on apartment features, amenities, and local experiences. Additional facilities include a fitness centre and select pet-friendly rooms.
Artik Suzhou will also offer community-oriented activities, including guided city walks, cycling routes, and artist-led workshops, allowing guests to engage with Suzhou’s culture beyond traditional sightseeing.

Commenting on the opening, Alfonso Orona, Multi-Property General Manager, said the property is designed to accommodate a wide range of travellers, from families to younger guests, by offering flexible living spaces and a residential approach to hospitality.
